What is a Carricante? A white wine indigenous to Sicily, Italy. This late-ripening vine is the main variety used in the Etna DOC. It is usually found blended with Catarratto and Minella bianca. As a varietal wine, Carricante produces a fresh, straw-yellow, lightly fragrant white wine.
Etna Bianco at Alta Mora: Carricante, native variety espalier-grown over 6 hectares of vines at an altitude of 600 metres above sea level. Area of production: Milo, Praino contrada south side and Castiglione di Sicilia in the Verzella contrada, where the freshness of the land allows full ripening of the Carricante without altering its aromas.Download our Liquor Licence
