"La Valentina montepulciano is a big rich full bodied wine with layers of stewed fruit & warm spice. Works perfectly with the long braised Mamma D’s beef meatballs..."

Tasting Notes: Deep ruby colour, with purple shadows. The bouquet shows rose, delicate red fruits similar to currant and raspberry, pepper, clove and accents of brush. Medium-bodied, in the mouth is velvety, with hints of cherry, blueberry and licorice, with fresh and energetic tannins.
A note on NZ reviews here: The wines from Fattoria La Valentina vineyard are highly rated by international wine reviewers, but unfortunately, no NZ tasting note has been published since 2014. This is due to the large volume of wines to taste by local reviewers, not because of a lack of quality. Fattoria La Valentina consistently produces top-notch wines.
Fattoria La Valentina: Located in Pescara in the central part of Italy, the La Valentina Estate overlooks the beautiful Spoltore. Sabatino and Roberto e Andrea Di Properzio established this estate in 1990. The owners were quite passionate about winemaking, and they learnt a lot through their experience working in the Saint Teresa Vineyards nearby.
The main aim of the La Valentina estate was to get recognition all over Italy and the world, for the excellent quality of DOC wines crafted in the Abruzzo region.
