Tasting Notes: Intense aromas of guava, nettle, passionfruit & gooseberry, lead into a rich palate of tropical fruits, elderflower & pink grapefruit. Well balanced with juicy acidity and a long lingering finish. Winemaker: Cullen Neal
REVIEWS:
Cameron Douglas, MS 95 Points Classic and complex, youthful and pungent, aromas of fresh basil and sage, crushed rock minerality and fruit scents of apple and passionfruit, pink grapefruit and green pear, exotic white spice and elderflower. Equally delicious on the palate with flavours that mirror the nose wrapped in a silky texture then contrasting acidity, a steely freshness and a saline mineral finish.
About Windrush Winery: Callum & Sarah Linklater are second-generation organic producers. Growing chardonnay, pinot noir & sauvignon blanc on family-owned certified organic vineyards. A very small vineyard (722 vines) was planted in 2016 at Gee Street, Renwick, Marlborough. The unique thing about this vineyard is that it was developed organically rather than converted once established. We planted three chardonnay clones, mainly 548 but a little 1066 & 121 which are quite rare in New Zealand.
