Waiheke & Ponui Islands | Crisp & Dry Rosé | Coastal Expression

Tasting Notes

Vibrant, effortless, and unmistakably coastal the 2025 Pinque Rosé is crafted to capture the spirit of summer in a glass. Pale salmon in hue with a shimmering clarity, the nose opens with a flourish of wild strawberry, watermelon, and white peach, layered over hints of rose petal, sea spray, and freshly crushed herbs. There's a breezy, salt-kissed lift to the aromatics, a reminder of the island origin and its windswept beauty. On the palate, Pinque is crisp, dry, and refreshingly precise. Ripe red berries and citrus blossom glide across a taut, mineral backbone, with a clean and saline finish, leaving a lingering sense of freshness, moreish and mouthwatering. Playful yet poised, 2025 Pinque is built for long lunches, seaside sunsets, and every moment in between. It's not just a rosé, it's your Summer Icon.

A pure, dry expression of coastal New Zealand rosé, made for the table not the cellar.

Why you'll love it: A dry, mouthwatering rosé that does not wait for summer, equally at home with a long lunch or a quiet glass on the deck.

The Islands

Pinque is sourced from cooler, coastal blocks on Waiheke and Ponui Islands, planted in Merlot, Syrah and Malbec chosen specifically for rosé rather than picked as a by-product of red wine. The fruit is hand-picked at optimal ripeness, gently pressed with minimal skin contact to keep the colour pale and the juice pure, then fermented cool in stainless steel for freshness and clarity.

About Man O' War

Man O' War sits on the rugged eastern end of Waiheke Island, farming the largest vineyard holding on the island across warm clay and volcanic hillside sites cooled by constant sea breezes. The estate takes its name from the 19th century ironclad warships, a nod to the Kauri masts once sourced from this coast. Fruit is hand harvested from many small parcels and made site by site, giving genuine, restaurant-quality wines that carry the maritime character of their place.

Perfect with grilled prawns, a summer salad, or a light charcuterie board. The crisp, dry, saline profile suits fresh seafood and herby, sun-soaked food.
