Classic Tuscan Character
A medium-bodied red with distinctive notes of red fruit and a well-balanced acidity, this Chianti Superiore delivers a pleasing structure with soft, drying tannins. It’s no wonder this is a firm favourite among The Wine List customers.
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby red with purple reflections. The nose is intense and fragrant, showing fruit and violet florals. The palate follows through with juicy, round fruit flavours supported by savoury notes and balanced tannins, fine-tuned by traditional cask ageing. It finishes dry, long, and harmonious.
Grape Blend
Predominantly Sangiovese, with small additions of Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo, and Cabernet Sauvignon. This blend brings both freshness and structure — classic Chianti in style, with a refined modern edge.
What Makes it a ‘Superiore’?
To earn the Chianti Superiore DOCG designation, wines must reach a minimum alcohol content of 12% and undergo at least nine months of ageing. This guarantees added complexity and depth.
Superiore wines must come from within the Chianti DOCG, including any of its seven subzones: Aretini, Fiorentini, Pisane, Senesi, Montalbano, Montespertoli, and Rufina.
