Alto Adige Pinot Grigio | Organic | Food-Friendly
Tasting Notes
Brilliant, clear, straw yellow with a golden shimmer. Delicate aromas, pronounced bouquet, fruity (peach, melon), exotic spices, minerals. Medium-bodied, quite rich, fruity, spicy, fresh, dry. Perfect balance of structured, flavoursome Pinot Grigio with a crisp dry finish.
A serious, dry Alto Adige Pinot Grigio with real texture, a world away from the watery everyday style.
Why you'll love it: It is the dinner-party white that quietly impresses, dry and food-friendly but with enough body to hold its own.
The Grape
Pinot Grigio, also called Grauburgunder or Pinot Gris, is the most widely planted white variety in Alto Adige. The sites around Magrè and Salorno, with their warm Mediterranean influence and chalky, sand and gravel soils, suit it well.
About Alois Lageder
Founded in 1823 and now run by the sixth generation from Magrè in Alto Adige, Alois Lageder is one of northern Italy's benchmark estates, working a wide range of varieties across the valley floor and mountain slopes of South Tyrol. The family converted its own vineyards to biodynamic cultivation in the 1990s, and by 2024 the whole estate, including its long-standing grower partners, was farmed organically or to certified Demeter biodynamic standards. The result is a restaurant-quality range with clarity, freshness and a real sense of its alpine place.
Perfect with antipasti, grilled fish, or roast chicken and mushrooms. The crisp, dry palate keeps lighter dishes fresh and clean.
