Their commitment to quality has been recognised internationally with Gold Medal wins at the London Wine Competition 2023, and their Pinot Noir consistently scores in the high 90s with Wine Spectator. Most recently, their 2024 Pinot Noir Rosé earned a Gold Medal at the New Zealand Organic Wine Awards 2025.
The Vineyard
Set against the backdrop of the majestic Pisa mountain range, Amisfield is one of the largest single-estate vineyards in Central Otago. The dramatic high country landscape with its continental climate and crushed rock soils creates the perfect environment for cool-climate viticulture, producing wines with distinctive mineral character.
About Amisfield
Founded by John Darby, who was spurred on by fond memories of childhood holidays in Central Otago, Amisfield represents a mastery of this breathtaking yet often unforgiving high country. Now certified organic after a five-year transition, their commitment to sustainable viticulture and quality has established them as a restaurant favourite amongst New Zealand's finest dining establishments.
Perfect with fresh goat's cheese salad, grilled prawns, or Asian fusion dishes. The wine's mineral backbone and aromatic complexity complement fresh seafood and herbaceous flavours, whilst the crisp acidity enhances delicate preparations.
