Tasting Notes
Beautifully ripe and inviting, showing peach, rockmelon, fresh pear and blossom aromas on the nose. The palate is succulent, smooth and lingering, well-proportioned and attractively expressed, making it delightfully drinkable.
A generously textured Marlborough Pinot Gris with certified organic credentials, combining ripe stone fruit with a creamy, lingering palate.
Why you'll love it: Pinot Gris fans who want more texture and weight than a Sauvignon Blanc, without crossing into full Chardonnay territory, will find this sits perfectly in the middle. Pairs broadly with food.
Reviews
93 points, Sam Kim, Wine Orbit (Oct 2025): "Charming and elegantly fragrant with aromas of poached pear, rockmelon, apricot, and florals. It's succulent and fleshy in the mouth, delivering a beautifully rounded mouthfeel backed by fine acidity, offering delightful drinking."
The Vineyard
Grown at the top of Marlborough's Brancott Valley on Odyssey's certified organic vineyard. Handpicked fruit is fermented in stainless steel and then transferred to seasoned oak barriques to rest on lees for a year, building subtle texture and complexity without masking the varietal fruit character.
About Odyssey Wines
Odyssey Wines is owned by Rebecca Salmond, who trained at Massey University in New Zealand and Adelaide University's Roseworthy College in Australia, graduating with a degree in Biotechnology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Winemaking Science. She then worked in some of the world's finest wine regions: Burgundy, Bordeaux and Cote Rotie in France; Alto Adige and Sicily in Italy; Marlborough and Hawkes Bay in New Zealand. Rebecca launched Odyssey in 1994 with small amounts of premium wines. Odyssey now owns 68 acres in Marlborough's Brancott Valley with 25 acres under vine, managed organically. All wines are single vineyard.
Perfect with roast chicken with herbs, a creamy mushroom risotto, or pan-fried blue cod. The stone-fruit richness and fine acidity bridge a wide range of dishes from light to moderately rich.
