Can you capture a time and place and trap it in a bottle? Every harvest, we try. The elements needed to craft a Dicey wine are the vineyard plus heat, rain, wind. The precise amounts of each vary from year to year. The grapes endure the fury of nature and then we harvest them by hand.
The vines set with small berries on compact bunches. There was a good amount of rain in January, then it dried out and heated up. Some screaming windstorms visited over Easter but we got through without damage. We brought the crop in at optimal ripeness. The fruit was disease free and delicious.
