Tasting Notes

Powerful and intensely flavoured, bursting with fresh grapefruit. A breadth of textures builds on the mid-palate, with grapefruit pith and a rich creaminess from lees ageing. The wine's taut structure cleanses the palate and carries flavours to the long finish.

Fermented and aged in older French oak, this is a complex Sauvignon Blanc that sits well outside the classic Marlborough mould.

Why you'll love it: it is widely regarded as one of New Zealand's most distinctive Sauvignon Blancs, with the texture and depth to rival a fine white Burgundy.

About Dog Point

Dog Point sits at the meeting of the Brancott and Omaka Valleys in Marlborough, one of the region's oldest privately established vineyards and now New Zealand's largest BioGro-certified organic site. Organic conversion began in 2009, and the estate farms with cover crops, sheep and cattle for weed control, and composted vine prunings returned to the soil. Fruit is hand-picked from low-cropped vines, and the wines are made with a low intervention, hands-off approach. They are vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free, and built to cellar.
