Tasting Notes

This Sauvignon Blanc shows a bright straw-yellow hue with subtle green highlights. The nose is fresh and expressive, revealing vibrant white stone fruits, gooseberry, herbs, and delicate tropical notes. On the palate, crisp acidity frames rich stone fruit, herbaceous, and floral flavours, leading to a long, dry, and refreshing finish.

A refined, dry Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with stone fruit, herb and real textural length, a step up from the everyday.

About Folium

Folium is the work of Japanese-born winemaker Takaki Okada, who came to Marlborough from Tokyo in 2003 and spent six years making wine at Clos Henri before striking out on his own. In 2011 he took over an 8.5 hectare block in the Brancott Valley, first planted in 1996, and turned off the irrigation to dry-grow the vines. The estate is certified organic, and its name comes from the Latin for leaf, reflecting Okada's belief that the vineyard does the real work while he simply guides it.
