Tasting Notes: A delicate nose presenting a well-expressed bouquet, showcasing notes of violets in a composed manner. This aroma delicately entices the senses with its refined and fragrant presence. Its youthful and fresh characteristics offer a vibrant and lively palate.
If you enjoy Nebbiolo, try these too:
Etna Rosso – Volcanic elegance from Sicily, with similar tannin, minerality, and aromatic lift.
Sangiovese (Chianti Classico or Brunello) – Shares Nebbiolo’s structure, earthy depth, and red cherry core.
Pinot Noir – Especially from Burgundy or Central Otago, for delicacy, perfume, and age-worthy finesse.
Cabernet Franc – Savoury, floral, and slightly wild. Lighter than Cab Sav but with real personality.
About Nebbiolo: Elegant. Ethereal. Unmistakably Italian. Nebbiolo is the noble grape behind Barolo and Barbaresco, delivering wines of striking beauty and complexity. Pale in colour but powerful in structure, it’s known for its high acidity, firm tannins, and layered aromas, think rose petal, cherry, tar, truffle, and spice.
This is a wine that evolves in the glass and transforms with age, earning its place among the world’s finest. For those who love subtlety, savoury depth, and a long, thoughtful finish, Nebbiolo is simply unmatched.
About Fontanabianca: At the Fontanabianca winery they have clear ideas: quality is closely related to the features of the soil in the region of Neive, where Aldo Pola with his family, have been carrying on their work, which the father Franco started in 1969. The tie with the hills which are cultivated with Barbaresco vines was sealed many years ago: the winery is located in the hamlet of Bordini, surrounded by vines which seem to disappear beyond the horizon. Ageing takes place in large oak barrels and the smaller barrique barrels are used for the wine maturation to preserve the taste of grapes in the wine: this is the motto of Fontanabianca.
