Tasting Notes: The aim of this Wine is to provide a dry pinot gris that has texture and depth, rather than focusing solely on primary fruit notes. A Wine that satisfies across the palate. Characters from the location, natural yeast ferments, and also some barrel aging give this Pinot Gris complexity and depth. The palate has an elegant structure with a creamy, textural mid-palate with a long finish.
About Mahi Wines:
Situated just west of Renwick in the very heart of Marlborough’s wine country, the Mahi winery has continued to evolve since its beginnings in 1984.
Brian and Nicola purchased the winery and vineyard in 2006, previously occupied by sparkling producer Daniel Le Brun. They set about converting the former onsite restaurant into their cellar door space and in 2008 completed an extensive winery upgrade. Continual improvements are made in the winery with ongoing maintenance of the underground caves and the addition of a new lab in 2012.
