Tasting Notes

In the glass, this Shiraz is deep red with purple hues. The nose offers a wonderful lift of raspberry fruits, floral notes, choc mint, and a herbal, menthol note. Moving onto the palate, a medium to full body features juicy red fruits, blackcurrant, earthy, savoury notes, and black olives. The oak introduces a cedary, roasted meat character that deepens complexity. Soft, silky tannins define the mid palate and complement the vibrant, juicy fruit. The wine finishes long with berry fruit, fine tannins, and cedary oak. Enjoy it young while vibrant and fresh, though it will also age for up to ten years.

Paisley Wines is the small-batch Barossa project of Derek and Kirsten Fitzgerald, run hands-on from their Angaston estate in South Australia. Derek draws on more than twenty years of Barossa winemaking to focus on the three varieties he believes the region does best, Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro, making characterful wines without the corporate polish. The Fabric Series nods to Kirsten's Scottish heritage and the textile town of Paisley near Glasgow.
