Aussie Excellence | Barossa Valley | Single-Barrel Shiraz
Tasting Notes
This Shiraz displays a deep purple-red hue. The bouquet offers rich aromas of blackberries, chocolatey oak, and a subtle hint of gunflint. On the palate, it is unapologetically full-bodied, brimming with dense blackberry and raspberry fruit, layered with sweet Indian spices such as cardamom, cinnamon, and clove. An earthy undertone and well-integrated chocolatey, nutty oak add complexity. The mouthfeel is textured, luscious, and round, with juicy fruit balanced by velvety tannins. The immense flavour endures across the palate and finishes exceptionally long.
A full-bodied, luscious Barossa Shiraz with dense black fruit, sweet spice and exceptional length.
Why you'll love it: the pinnacle of the Paisley range, just one barrel made, immense and velvety, a collector's Shiraz.
Reviews
96 points, Sam Kim, Wine Orbit (Sept 2023): "Sumptuous palate displaying expansive mouthfeel backed by silky texture and supple tannins."
The Selection
Top-performing vineyard parcels are vinified separately but identically, so each site's character shines through, with only about one barrel of each wine released.
About Paisley Wines
Paisley Wines is the small-batch Barossa project of Derek and Kirsten Fitzgerald, run hands-on from their Angaston estate in South Australia. Derek draws on more than twenty years of Barossa winemaking to focus on Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro, making characterful wines without the corporate polish. The Fabric Series nods to Kirsten's Scottish heritage and the textile town of Paisley near Glasgow.
Perfect with char-grilled steak, venison, or aged cheddar.
