“A bold and brooding Pinot from a secret Dunstan foothills site.”
› Tasting Notes
This wine is the result of Rockburn's winemaker being let loose to practice his artistry on fruit from a (secret) single vineyard site in the Dunstan foothills of Central Otago.
Expect a dense core of dark cherries, charred oak, star anise, leather and cinnamon. Bold yet pliable tannins frame notes of fruit compote and cigar smoke, with a muscular structure and long, savoury finish.

› About the Producer
Rockburn takes its name from the rugged, rock-strewn, burn-scarred landscape of Central Otago. This is Pinot Noir country, with a climate similar to Burgundy and a strong regional identity. Rockburn sources fruit from vineyards in Gibbston Valley and Parkburn, north of Cromwell. All grapes are handpicked and wines are made with a focus on elegance, structure, and purity. While best known for their Pinot Noir, the full Rockburn portfolio includes whites and aromatics that capture the region’s signature freshness.
